A Tale Of Two Cities - A Report of the Committee on the Stabilization of the Jewish Family

By Samuel C. Heilman

Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, January 1990

This document describes the establishment of two programs: Contact in St. Louis, Missouri, and Connections in the MetroWest region of New-Jersey. Both programs were created in order to locate the under- and unaffiliated Jewish families in the local community and to help discover what types of Jewish activities they would participate in and what their needs are. After participating in these programs, more families held memberships in organizations, attended community activities, gave to charity, and practiced more religious and traditional Jewish activities. A full report of the Contact program is included.
