Jewish Community in the 21st Century

By Menahem Ben-Sasson

Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, 1998

Due to rapid change in social structures, there appears to be a need for a change in the dynamics which create Jewish identity and provide for its continuity. In an age with such rapidly changing social structures, new additional identity bases must be found to replace those becoming irrelevant. Creation of such a community with specific goals and responsibilities may provide answers to groups searching for new social structures which provide identity and continuity. When people combine life frameworks to share common goals they express an identity.
