The United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh undertook a community-wide strategic planning effort to address the needs of the aging. The report assesses population's characteristics and needs. The Strategic Plan laid out in this report makes recommendations in three areas concerning the aging population: long term care for those who are in need; prevention of status deterioration and empowerment of the elders; and developing resources to support the network's initiatives.
