Mobile Community Survey on Jewish Education

By Samuel H. Dinsky

American Association for Jewish Education, Jewish Welfare Fund, Mobile, Alabama, 1969

This report includes recommendations for improving Jewish education in Mobile, Alabama. The recommendations are based on a study and analysis of detailed school data, presented by the two congregational schools in Mobile, and a series of in-depth meetings with the professional and lay leadership involved in both congregations. The main issues which have arisen are: cooperative amalgamation of the two schools; cooperative educational projects on an inter-congregational community-wide basis; a community-wide parent educational program; periodic weekend conferences.
