Interim Report on The Board of Jewish Education

Study Committee on Jewish Education, July 1975

In its deliberations on the Board of Jewish Education, the Study committee accepted the need for a community-sponsored instrument which would serve the needs of the schools affiliated with the Board of Jewish Education at all levels. The Committee felt that Board activities should include the planning, initiating and operating of new or extended educational programs, as well as supervising, coordinating, guiding, supporting and evaluating existing educational efforts. In the recommendations which follow, the Study Committee has sought to reflect the changes which would be needed in the Board's structure, as well as staff resources which would be required, in order to implement programs which the Board will be expected to initiate.
