Black Nationalism, Jews, and Zionism

By Benyamin Neuberger

Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI), April 1996

The author of this article, a professor of Political Science at the Open University in Tel-Aviv, portrays the sympathetic attitude Black Nationalism has shown toward Jews, and specifically the Zionist Movement. He relates this to a common literary heritage - the Bible - and their empathy with the suffering Jews have undergone throughout the ages. In addition, Black Nationalism has been overall supportive of Zionism, in which they saw a paradigm for their own movements.
