Service Learning in the Jewish Community: Connecting the Community and Jewish Studies
This booklet was written for Jewish communal leaders, Jewish Studies directors, and faculty who would like to involve undergraduates in Jewish communal agencies and educational institutions. It outlines the theoretical and historical basis for this form of experiential education. It provides a "how to" guide for establishing a service learning class, using the course at California State University, Northridge, as an example.
