"Find yourself a teacher," the Talmud says; and the wisdom of that advice is plain to anyone who has tried to master a new field of knowledge or acquire a new set of skills. Yet, whether we hunger for Torah or secular leaming, most of us count ourselves fortunate to have found even one great teacher, one who will not only instruct us but who will also guide and inspire and ultimately change our lives.
