Bringing Women In: A Survey of the Evolving Role of Women in Jewish Organizational Life in Philadelphia

By Rela Geffen Monson

American Jewish Committee (AJC), 1977

This project is a follow-up of an earlier study by the author from 1975. This study provides a roadmap indicating how we have come in integrating women in Jewish life and where we still have to go. It shows that the decade 1974-1984 witnessed an increase and consolidation of power for women in the American Jewish community. It also provides several suggestions for advancing the inclusion of women in lay and professional roles in Jewish communities and agencies.
