By Gary Eckstein

Australian Jewish Historical Society, Jewish Communal Appeal (JCA), June 2006

This report is the fifth in a series created for the Jewish Communal Appeal on the demography of the Sydney Jewish community. The definition of Jewish for these reports is based on self-identification, an approach consistent with that used by the Australian Statistician and other central statistical agencies worldwide. The data for this report is derived from the national census of Population and Housing as well as other communal statistics, when available. The purpose of these reports is to assist in the planning of Jewish services.
