The author contends that it is not that Israelis are cynical about peace, but rather profoundly lethargic about its process. Cynicism implies that the cynic has no hope for the future, and while many of those dreams lie dormant in Israel right now, crushed under the weight of lethargy, they are still capable of being awoken.
