Beginning in 1973 a series of surveys were undertaken to allow for a detailed retrospective analysis of cohort fertility changes in Israel and for in-depth analysis of the major determinants of fertility attitudes and behavior among the major ethnic-religious subgroups in Israeli society. This paper presents data and findings of these surveys.
