Reading Between the Criticisms

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2010

Israel refuses to allow a serious independent investigation of Gaza Flotilla fiasco, just as it stonewalled the Goldstone investigation. Israeli politics daily become more insular, alleging antisemitism and anti-Zionism at every criticism, insisting that to criticize Israel means to delegitimize it. Israel persists in believing that its international disrepute is a public relations problem, not an outcome of its policies. One does not have to accept the critics' conclusions in order to agree that something is rotten in the State of Israel.
