What About Israel's Atomic Weapons?

As the world faces the prospect of a showdown with Iran over it's nuclear ambitions, it is time to ask some uncomfortable questions about Israel's nuclear capacity. Israel's official nuclear policy is 'opacity,' neither affirming nor denying its nuclear capability, yet it is the world's worst kept secret that Israel is a nuclear power. Given that, a suggestion - Israel formally abandons opacity and signs the Nonproliferation Treaty, but only if Iran does the same.
