Greg Smith Shined Light on Wall Street

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 2012

From the story of Greg Smith, Goldman Sachs whistleblower and (coincidentally?) Jew, it is hard to avoid the conclusion that a responsible social ethic is part of the Jewish makeup. Hard that is, until we are reminded of Jewish Wall Street titans who seem quite differently composed. Jews are, in other words, a mixed multitude - saints and sinners, Nobel laureates and fraudsters, wise sons and wicked sons. In the meantime, the work of bending the arc towards justice awaits. So, too, real regulation.
