Out of the Attic

By Leonard Fein

Forward Association, 1995

The black and white debate on abortion in modern America, ossified by political correctness and the intransigency of the church and the Christian Coalition, disguises the middle ground that should be the sensible resolution. The truth is that many on the pro-choice side are conflicted by abortion, but refusal by the right to budge on issues of prevention - sex education, family planning and poverty - and fear that any 'but' will become a 'no', stops coalition building dead in its tracks.
