Translating Jewish Commitment into Practice

By Leonard Fein

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), December 1979

The author argues that the Jewish communal field must not treat its clients' Jewishness as a coincidence irrelevant to the provision of services. He advocates a centrality of Jewish content for the field's goals and methods, suggesting that clients be offered numerous opportunities for "Judaic successes." In Journal of Jewish Communal Service, v.56 no.2, Winter 1979.
