#NextGenDonors: Respecting Legacy, Revolutionizing Philanthropy

21/64, Johnson Center at Grand Valley State University, July 2013

A relatively small group of Gen Xers and Millennials are inheriting over $40 trillion in wealth, much of that designated for charitable giving. Many are making their own wealth, too. They will be the major donors in America for decades to come; some already are. This report is based on first-of-its kind data, listening to members of the next generations of major donors, ages 21 to 40, in their own voices, from a national online survey (310 total responses) and in-depth interviews (30 total).
