Yiddish/Jewish Cultures: A Graduate Student Conference

By Shiri Goren, Hannah Pressman, Lara Rabinovitch

Association for Jewish Studies (AJS), Fall 2006

The authors review the graduate student conference they convened at New York University, entitled "Yiddish / Jewish Cultures: Literature, History, Thought in Eastern European Diasporas". In addition to discussing themes of discussion from the conference, the authors contend that their conference can be seen as a model of the ways in which departmental support can provide opportunities for leadership and for unique interdisciplinary collaboration.
