Antisemitism: An Assault on Human Rights

By Robert S. Rifkind, Anthony Julius, Jeffrey Weill, Felice D. Gaer

American Jewish Committee (AJC), 2001

In a monograph submitted to the United Nations' World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa (a conference which itself was embroiled in controversy related to antisemitism), the authors outline the history of antisemitism in its various manifestations over the past 2,000 years. They offer evidence of the relationship between antisemitism and other forms of racism, xenophobia and related intolerance. The authors further detail international legal doctrines and agreements by which the international community has committed itself to the elimination of antisemitism.
