This report focuses on the North American cohort of nearly 60,000 young adults who participated in ten day, fully subsidized Birthright Israel trips in summer 2007 and winter 2007-08. The report includes a description of applicant characteristics and an analysis of the reactions of program participants to the program, in terms of their evaluation of their experience and its impact on their relationships, Jewish identity, participation in Jewish communal life, and connection to Israel, at approximately three months post trip.
