The author reviews traditional and modern perspectives and ideologies in regards to the Jewish family, and discusses ways in which the American Jewish family is changing, and ways in which it remains traditional. He discusses programs which can help tp strengthen the "modern traditional Jewish family," which he describes as the family type which is most compatible with the interests of both a large majority of this generation of young Jews, and of leaders of the Jewish community in assuring the continuity of the Jewish community.
