Developing a Children's Service in an Israeli Community Health Center

By Sara Siegal

Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), Winter 1985

This article offers a description of the beginning stages of a children's consultation and brief treatment service. It is a part of a new community mental health center in Raanana, Israel. The service was initally viewed as having a screening, referral and liasion function. However, it was found that even with limited staff, it could serve a preventive function by offering educational and consultative services.
