Jewish Family Life Education in the Synagogue

By Harlene W. Appelman

Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), Winter 1985

This article looks at the success of the Jewish Family Life Project. This success can be attributed to the following formula: 1) segmenting the market; 2) targeting the audience; 3) personalizing the printed materials so that they are clearly designed for a particular audience; 4) building from the familiar and making people feel accepted and comfortable with whatever knowledge they already had acquired; and 5) being attuned to the questions people are asking.
