Creating Opportunities for Spiritual Awareness and Growth Within a Jewish Family Service Agency

By Lenore Bohm

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), Spring 2007

The author, a rabbi employed by a Jewish Healing Center within a Jewish Family Service agency, described how her role has expanded over the years. She describes a monthly lunchtime discussion program called Healing the Healer, which she developed in response to a hunger among staff members for infusing spirituality into the work environment. The author further presents a basic exercise for enhancing mindfulness throughout the day.
