The Future of Judaism or the Judaism of the Future: About the Jewish Values: Sobel

By Henri Sobel

JDC International Centre for Community Development, January 10, 2002

In a speech given at the Latin American Conference for Jewish Lay and Professional Leadership held in 2001, Rabbi Henri Sobel addresses religious tolerance and how it significantly affects the unity of the Jewish community. The lecturer boldly states that the division of the global Jewish community is more damaging than antisemitic activities. He makes this assertion by extensively describing the dichotomy between the Orthodox and liberal Jewish communities, and concludes his argument by stating his hopes for more harmony, respect, and understanding between all divisions of the Jewish community.
