Are We More than Just a Category?

By Bethamie Horowitz

Forward Association, December 15, 2006

The author analyzes how intermarriage in the 1960s was seen as a slippery-slope towards the deterioration of the Jewish community, and why now, intermarriage no longer seems so "risky." To illustrate this notion, the author draws on a 2005 Boston Community Study that showed that 60% of the children in interfaith households were being raised Jewish.
