Social Research: Out From the Organizational Umbrella

By Bethamie Horowitz

Forward Association, April 29, 2005

The author analyzes the shift that Jewish social research has made from the organizational world to the academy. There has been a great increase of social research facilities, such as the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education at Brandeis, opening in universities. This could potentially be attributed to more developed research facilities that academies can offer. The author moves on to describe the benefits and potential challenges that will come with this shift.
