Jewish Education in the Group Work Setting

By Howard I. Bogot

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Summer 1974

The author discusses the place of Jewish education in Jewish community centers; definitions of Jewish values and processes; and the relationship between Jewish education and group social work. He includes results of a modest survey of participants in a Philadelphia-area course called "Basic Judaism Through Drama." Jewish educators and group workers should work together to create new models for the substance and dynamic of Jewish education, the author argues.
