These scenarios reflect complications that arise in board-staff relations. Power-sharing concerns, unclear role clarification, status issues, insensitivity on the part of board members, and personality tensions are but some of the real life happenings captured here. They are cast in different forms, thus allowing differential use. Some can be discussed between two staff people; yet others between staff and board members. Some are set up to allow for small groups and/or individuals acting them out for larger group discussions. In most instances, questions have been raised for consideration. They are by no means
comprehensive and the reader will undoubtedly add even more.
Most importantly, they reflect the concerns of hundreds and keep popping up in one form or another in organizations throughout the world.
