Caring Communities in Times of Personal Crisis

By Nancy Fuchs-Kreimer, Betsy Platkin Teutsch

Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association (RRA), Spring 1999

The authors discuss both the practical and spiritual benefits of gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness) by a traditional caring community for an individual in times of personal crisis. The authors argue that these acts can benefit both the individuals in need and the community supporting them.
