Idea #4: Orthodox Feminist Day Schools

Feminism has transformed Orthodox Judaism and greatly expanded women's ritual and leadership roles. Orthodox day schools, however, continue to send the message that women are predominantly charged with the home, and men are in charge of prayer and ritual. The author proposes argues for K-12 coeducational Orthodox feminist day schools that are fully committed to Orthodox life and fully committed to feminism and social justice, and outlines how such a school would concretely manifest her vision.
