This article presents in brief a miscellaneous sample of happenings in Jewish communities around the world. These include preparations in Israel for the celebration of Rabbi Isaac Luria's 400th anniversary of death, predictions of a higher-than-ever total of funds raised for Israel, the disappointment of an orthodox boy who received only 100 pledges from his peers to skip school on Jewish holidays, a report on the growth of Jewish day schools in North America, a description of the American Jewish Society for Service's youth volunteer trips to needy neighborhoods, and an effort to spread Talmud study by cassette tape. As well, a reader contributes a verse to David Weiss' September 1971 poem, "By the Waters of the St. Lawrence.
