The Farming of Souls: Rethinking Rabbinic Activism

By David E.S. Stein

Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association (RRA), Fall 1999

The author highlights the intersection between activism and the role of the rabbi. He begins by exploring the role that a rabbi plays as a religious leader who people look to for moral guidance. He then begins to question this roles and its limits, but finds a medium he calls "areas of expression," through which to explore, experience, and to fuel this intersection in a positive way.
