The Role of the Jewish Community Center in Planning and How Federations Can Support It

By Herbert Millman

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Winter 1967

The author responds to an article by Charles Miller entitled "The Role of the Jewish Community Center in Planning", which appeared in the previous issue of this journal (volume 44, number 1). The author agrees with Miller's conclusions that Jewish Centers should think and act in whole-community terms instead of organizational terms. He examines ways in which Jewish Federations can act in partnership with Centers toward that goal.
