Jewish Social Group Work Students View the Jewish Community Center Field As a Placement and Career

By Brian Segal, Allan Greene, Barry Kasdan

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, Winter 1967

Responding to the personnel shortage in the Jewish Community Center (JCC) field, the authors embarked upon a study to test their hypothesis that social group work students who take student placements at Jewish Center postings become disinterested or less interested in the Jewish communal field after their placements there. This hypothesis was confirmed by the study, the authors report. They draw implications for further research, and present recommendations based on their findings.
