Sustaining the Quest for Sustainability: The Role of Spiritual Teaching and Practice in Jewish Environmental Education

It is important to continue to invest in education and to promote adoption of environmentally sound practices. One approach is to show how Jewish law supports and mandate environmentally sustainable practices. For some people, this knowledge will be inspiring and may change their behavior. For others, it will confirm what they already have committed to doing, and so will add Jewish language to their green commitment.
