The American Passport in Russia

This report presents correspondence between American Jewish communal leaders and US State Department officials, discussing the serious problems facing Jewish American citizens who travel to Russia, where Russian law restricts Jewish movement and activity. US policy is discussed in detail, along with the content of US-Russian treaties, specific cases in which Jewish American travelers encountered trouble, and diplomatic actions undertaken on their behalf.
