This report surveys happenings in the Jewish world during the Jewish calendar year 5668. Among many topics covered are: political happenings around the world related to Jews; religion/state issues in the US, including a push for "Sunday Laws" restricting activities on the Christian Sabbath, and public debates related to the Bible in public schools; the growth of the Jewish art movement; Immigration issues in the US and Britain; developments related to Jewish charitable, Zionist, and other organizations; conversions of Jews to the Christian Science movement; Orthodox rabbis boycotting Yiddish newspapers which print on Shabbat; antisemitic incidents around the world; organizational activity on behalf of Abyssinian (Ethiopian / "Falasha") Jews; happenings in Palestine; newly published books by Jews or on Jewish themes; and deaths of prominent Jews.
