Discussion of Mr. Stone's Paper

By Bernard Dubin

Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (JCSA), National Conference of Jewish Social Welfare, September 1951

Responding to Julian G. Stone's "Testing Principles of Community Organization," which appears directly before this article in this issue, the author notes that there is a problematic lack of organization in the development of the science of Jewish community organization. The field urgently needs to define the function and objectives of community organization in the Jewish community, the author argues, and more precisely to define the role of the Board and Executives of organized Jewish communities.
