Sh'ma Book Review: Framing a Dialogue on American Jewish Theology

By Peter Ochs

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), April 2003

The author reviews two sets of essays, one by the Reform theologian Eugene Borowitz, the other by the Orthodox theologian Eliezer Berkovits, and concludes that their complementary philosophies of religious law and ethics could inform different yet mutually intelligible sets of halakhic judgments, a framework for interdenominational American Jewish theological dialogue.
