Cultural (Con)fusion

By Stephen E. Cohen

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), January 2004

The author wonders: Do we subvert the purpose of our work if we use elements of American culture to enlist the participation of our young people in Jewish communal life? Rather than trying to engage in a losing battle against popular American culture, he proposes using authentic cultural fusion as a marketing tool to induce young people to participate in Jewish life.
