The Front Porch

By Lisa D. Grant

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), June 2009

Grant takes a look at the front porch, a space that is both public and private. She connects the experience of a public porch to that of American Judaism today, where private and public Judaism intersect. Jews no more live by the phrase: "Be a Jew in the home and a man on the street", but rather live as a Jew both in the home and on the street.
