Lowering the Barriers and Raising the Meaning

By Kerry Olitzky

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), November 2008

The author urges us to lower the barriers and increase access to the Jewish community to allow unaffiliated Jews and intermarried families to be more engaged in Judaism and to strengthen their Jewish identities. He argues that keeping the end user in mind rather than those on the "inside" is an essential message not only for the potential convert, but for Jews in our communities as well.
