On Zichronot

By Abigail Gillman

Jewish Family & Life (JFL Media), September 2006

The author reflects on the ten verses of zichronot, remembrances, in musaf on Rosh Hashanah. She analyzes memory and time in the Torah, which zichronot invokes. She asserts that on Yom HaziKaron, one of the names of Rosh Hashanah, we paradoxically pray to be remembered for life by an omniscient God, who like us, needs help to remember.
