By Ruhama Weiss

Josh Rolnick, The Sh'ma Institute, October 2010

The author examines traditional Jewish texts (such as Genesis 13:16 and Talmud Bavli, Shabbat 25b) which illuminate questions of qualitative and quantitative counting of Jewish individuals, Jewish communities, and personal wealth. She questions the wisdom, in general, of focusing on quantitative counting.
