Editor's Introduction to Jewish Loyalties

By Susan Berrin

Josh Rolnick, The Sh'ma Institute, April 2010

The editor introduces this issue on Jewish loyalty, asking: What are the politics of listening, of trusting, of assessing what it means to be a loyal Jew? She notes that, in light of recent events like San Francisco's Jewish Community Federation to adopt "red lines" for grantees on Israel, the question of Jewish loyalty has perhaps never been more pressing.
