Reflections on Fundamentalism: Religious Ultra-Nationalists in Israel

By Charles S. Liebman

Charles S. Liebman, 2000

Liebman states that it is important to distinguish between fundamentalism and religious seriousness. The two terms are often confused, especially by secularists in academia and the media, and by religious liberals. Whether they do so from bad faith or ignorance is hard to know. But it is clear that they tend to apply the term fundamentalist to all those who don't share their point of view.
