Educating 'Prophets'

By Charlie Schwartz, Russel Neiss

Josh Rolnick, The Sh'ma Institute, February 2011

The authors advocate harnessing the powers of widely available technology in order to engage Jewish students in artistic endeavors. Noting that the biblical Betzalel was only thirteen when he completed the desert Tabernacle (according to the Talmud in Sanhedrin 69b), the authors envision frameworks of Jewish education which empower Jewish students to become modern Betzalels for the benefit of the entire community.
