Sexual Harassment and Jewish Education

By Carmela Ingwer

Tikkun, February 1994

Can Judaism assume a spiritual and intellectual role in shaping a structured discussion of sexual harassment in Jewish classrooms? In what ways would students benefit from such an inquiry? As a Jewish educator and feminist, I wish to respond to these questions on three related levels: A Jewish classroom critique of sexual harassment; Empowerment of Jewish women to combat sexual harassment; Derailing the JAP stereotype.
